About the Role

We're seeking a creative and skilled Illustrator to collaborate with us on a project-by-project basis. You'll bring ideas, stories, and concepts to life through original illustration work — whether for digital campaigns, editorial use, brand storytelling, or print materials.

We're looking for someone with a distinct visual voice who can also adapt to our brand's aesthetic when needed.

Scope of Work

• Create original illustrations for digital and/or print use
• Develop character designs, spot illustrations, or full-scene compositions based on briefs
• Participate in revision rounds as outlined per project agreement
• Collaborate with the creative or marketing team during briefing and feedback stages

Requirements

• Strong, distinctive illustration portfolio across a range of styles or a specialised style
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into visual concepts
• Proficiency in digital illustration tools (Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
• Reliable turnaround within agreed timelines
• Open to feedback and revision requests within the agreed scope
• Clear communication throughout the project lifecycle

Engagement Terms

• Project rates or per-piece commission fees — negotiable based on scope and complexity
• Timeline and deliverables agreed upon before each project commences
• Rights and usage terms outlined in a project contract

About the Role

We're looking for a talented and versatile Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team. You'll be responsible for producing compelling, on-brand visual content across our social media channels — from scroll-stopping graphics to polished video edits.

Key Responsibilities

• Design static and animated graphics for social media and other platforms
• Edit short-form video content
• Maintain visual consistency across all platforms in line with brand guidelines
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ideate and execute campaign visuals
• Resize and adapt content for different platform formats and specs
• Stay current with social media design trends, platform updates, and audience behaviour
• Manage and organise a library of brand assets, templates, and files

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in graphic design and/or content creation
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and/or Canva Pro, CapCut, or similar tools
• Strong portfolio demonstrating social media content work
• Understanding of social media platforms, formats, and best practices
• Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to take creative direction

About the Role

Hyphen is seeking an Office Manager to take charge of its office, accounts maintenance, and operational activities within the organisation. The role sits at the operational heart of everything we do.

As the organisation is evolving, there could be changes to this role and responsibilities as we move forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for General Operations and Financial Administration of Hyphen and Publications
• Maintain Office Accounts and interact with the External Accountant
• Ensure filing of monthly/quarterly/annual returns (Professional Tax, TDS, GST etc.)
• Manage physical back-end operations of Hyphen's Online bookshop
• Interact with Statutory Auditors during finalisation of Accounts
• Manage housekeeping and maintenance of the Hyphen office
• Support team members, advisors, meetings, travel, and all Hyphen/Bahuvachana events
• Support the Kannada journal Bahuvachana Sahitya Vimarshe (BSV) — events, sales, and publicity
• Co-ordinate with bookshops to replenish publications in Kannada and English
• Conduct market visits and relationship development with publishers and booksellers

Eligibility Criteria

• A graduate in Commerce or Management with 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Adaptable and willing to take on responsibilities beyond current scope
• Open to learning and upskilling in technology and new processes
• Proficient in English and Kannada, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Skilled in MS Office, accounting software, and digital financial tools
• Experience in Tally and/or Shopify preferred
• Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to manage processes efficiently
• Familiarity with relevant legal frameworks, including Trust and Income-Tax Acts
• A team player with ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Comfortable using AI tools to support daily operations
