We stepped into our neighbourhood on September 30, 2026, International Translation Day asking passersby to tell us words in their mother tongues that are particularly difficult to translate to English. Their responses were a surprise to us! Their answers were nowhere close to the question we asked them. Perhaps, our question itself was lost in translation? This only made us wonder more about the process of translation, and what it means to each one of us. We enjoyed the process of making and unmaking this video – and we hope it fires your thoughts on translation too!
